apparently our low key weekend wore vokey out. here she is this morning after everyone else woke up!

Mike's Christmas present was a triathlon bike and tonight, after several months of research, shopping and fittings, he finally got to bring the bike home!

Now if we could just have last week's 70 degree weather back again!

Big Night

Last night we enjoyed an Italian feast with our friends Lynnis and Larry. Lynnis and Heidi work together and they are also our neighbors!

Since we all love to cook we over indulged with recipes from the October 2005 issue of Bon Appetite magazine. The menu featured: peach and prosecco ice; goat cheese and salami sandwiches with truffle oil; beet ravioli with poppy seed butter; rigatoni with sea bass, rosemary and candied lemon; green beans braised with tomatoes and basil; and lemon and amaretti semifreddo with raspberry sauce. Larry was our sommelier for the evening and selected a white wine for each course! Delizioso!

tonight, vokey ate our sushi, some lettuce wraps, and the papers out of our fortune cookies!

Super Dish

In honor of the Chicago Bears we made Chicago-style deep dish pizza to enjoy while watching the Super Bowl. I think Mike deserves a championship ring for this one!

All Aboard!

Mark, Shannon and Lukas came to visit this past weekend. It was really cold so we didn't get out much, but we did enjoy dinner at Fritz's at Crown Center. The best thing about Fritz's is not the food, but the way it's served--by train! You phone in your order from your table and an overhead train/dumbwaiter system delivers your food right to your table! Of course, I think Vokey will always be Lukas's favorite train track!
